e-Skills UK and Incoming Thought Ltd

The Client
e-skills UK is a not-for-profit, employer-led organisation, licensed by government as the Sector Skills Council for IT & Telecoms, and lead body for Contact Centres.

e-skills UK's mission is to ensure the UK has the skills it needs to compete in the global economy. e-skills UK brings together employers, educators and Government to address together the technology-related skills issues that no one party can solve on its own. It provides advice, services and programmes that have a measurable impact on IT related skills development in the UK.

The Business Problem
Recent research has shown that small businesses in the UK are losing millions of pounds due to lack of any IT infrastructure or poorly developed infrastructure. Businesses could significantly improve their efficiency and profits with a better understanding of computer systems and how to use them effectively; however many do not take action due to expensive training courses, lack of time due to the demands of the business, phobia about IT and IT jargon.

The Solution
e-Skills UK commissioned the team at Incoming Thought Ltd to provide the content for a new online information resource called The Business IT Guide (www.businessitguide.com). Targeted at the small and medium business sector the guide provides a comprehensive range of over 100 individual guides on topics as diverse as building websites, ensuring legal compliance and trading online.

Andy Tabberer, project manager for e-Skills UK and owner of the Business IT Guide said, “The team at Incoming Thought have been fantastic to work with. Their depth and breadth of knowledge has been a real asset. They are able to create compelling, easy to read content quickly and efficiently”.  He added, “We look forward to continuing our work with Incoming Thought as the guide develops”.

Nigel Stanley, the project lead at Incoming Thought said, “We have been working on this project for a couple of years and it is very exciting to see the work we have completed being put to good use by businesses throughout the country”.
